McClatchy Lions Cross Country /Track and Field

13 Athletes, 13 PRs at Woodbridge! Boys take 10th place, with a top 5 of Kai Sorensen, Jackson Wedel, Fletcher Lux, Jonas Johnson and Sam Rounds. Louie McNatt and Olivia Johnson go 1-2 in the Varsity Blue division! Olivia Correia 10th. Colette Combrink and Alena Wong round out the top 5 top to give the girls a 4th place team finish. Anna McNatt finishes off the evening with a 9th place in the Elite division with a time of 16:35! New school record and PR by almost 50 seconds. Go Lions!

The Varsity Girls girls started the day off with a 3rd place finish, led by Ann McNatt. She was the first individual and she set a new meet record and McClatchy course record of 18:07. Other top finishers for the Lions were Louie McNatt, Olivia Johnson, Olivia Correia and Michelle Wee. The Varsity Boys took 7th place led by Kai Sorensen with Jackson Wedel not far behind. Alec Redmond, Fletcher Lux and Joe Bogdan completed the top 5. Frosh/Soph Boys were also 7th, led by Jax Leon and Sam Rounds. Max Li, Rowan Kliman and Jaime Garcia also helped earn the team score. The Frosh/Soph Girls ended the day also with a 7th place team finish. They were led by Alena Wong and Colette Combrink. Also completing the tough 2.1 mile course in the heat were Jillian Palmer, Maylanie Bevens Guerra and Elizabeth Denton. Most improved performance for this meet goes to Max Li for taking 12 seconds off his per mile pace even though it was a much tougher course! Go Lions!

We conquered Big Mamma and Little Sister! Frosh/Soph Girls started off with a 9th place team finish, led by Gwen Seifert in second place overall. Other top 5 for the Lions were Alena Wong, Colette Combrink, Jillian Palmer and Chela Cobb. The Frosh/Soph Boys followed, earning 7th place as a team. They were led by a strong trio of Jonas Johnson (4th), Jax Leon (9th) and Sam Rounds (11th). Rowan Kliman and Jaime Garcia rounded out the top 5. In the Varsity Girls race Anna McNatt destroyed the previous course record of 18:18, completing the 3 mile course in 17:28! She led the girls’ team to a 9th place finish along with Louie McNatt, Olivia Johnson, Olivia Correia and Michelle Wee. The Varsity Boys were led by Kai Sorensen and Alec Redmond. Most improved for the meet goes to Kai. He got knocked down during the race and still managed to take over 90 seconds off his per mile pace from LV 2019! Go Lions!

First cross country invitational in almost 2 years! Great to be back out there racing with multiple teams on a true cross country course! Lions looked good earning 9 top 10 finishes in the various races:

Freshmen Boys: Jonas Johnson, 3rd; Sam Rounds, 7th
Sophomore Boys: Jax Leon, 9th
Junior Girls: Anna McNatt, 1st; Louie McNatt, 5th; Olivia Johnson, 7th
Junior Boys: Alec Redmond, 7th
Senior Girls: Oivia Correia, 7th
Senior Boys: Kai Sorensen, 4th
