4 for 4! All four teams qualified for the Sections Championships! The Varsity Boys finished 6th, led by Kai Sorensen and Jackson Wedel. They are now #5 and #6 on McClatchy’s All Time list for Frogtown. Alec Redmond, Fletcher Lux and Ryan Tang rounded out the top 5. The Varsity Girls were 3rd, led by Anna McNatt, Louie McNatt and Olivia Johnson. All 3 were in the top 10, with a 1st, 4th and 9th place, respectively. They all also made the top 10 McClatchy All Time list at #1, #3 and #9. Anna’s time of 17:18 appears to be a course record, atl least going back as far as 2000. Olivia Correia and Brooke Kirchner completed the top 5. The Frosh/Soph Boys were also 3rd and also put 3 runners in the top 10, with Jonas Johnson, Jax Leon and Sam Rounds finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively. Jonas is now #1 on McClatchy’s All Time list and Jax is #10. Rowan Kliman and Jaime Garcia rounded out the top 5. The Frosh/Soph Girls finished the day with a 5th place finish and also qualified for Sections. They were led by Jillian Palmer and Stella Louney, who are now #7 and #9 on McClatchy’s All Time list. Completing the top 5 were Colette Combrink, Alena Wong and Emily Stibor. Go Lions!

Another sweep at Metro Champs! The Frosh/Soph Girls team dominated with 6 in the top 10; Alena Wong, Stella Louney, Colette Combrink, Jillian Palmer, Emily Stibor and Georgia Sarlis. The Frosh/Soph Boys team took the individual and team titles with 4 in the top 10; Jonas Johnson, Sam Rounds, Max Li and Rowan Kliman. The Varsity Girls took both titles as well, with Anna McNatt, Louie McNatt and Olivia Johnson going 1-3. Olivia Correia and Brooke Kirchner were also in the top 10. In the final race of the day, the Varsity Boys also won both titles, with Kai Sorensen and Jackson Wedel going 1-2. Fletcher Lux and Jax Leon also made the top 10. Go Lions!

HOKA ONE ONE

Fast times on the track this weekend in the HOKA ONE ONE Postal Nationals! The Varsity Boys average time was 10:14, currently #3 in California! Jackson Wedel and Kai Sorensen led the boys with a photo finish in 9:52.69 and 9:52.70. Alec Redmond, Fletcher Lux and Jax Leon were the other top 5. The Varsity Girls team average was 12.01, currently 4th in California. Anna Mcnatt led the girls in 10:33; another school record and the top time in California so far! She was followed by Louie McNatt, Olivia Johnson, Olivia Correia and Brooke Kirchner. Fantastic job by everyone! Of the 26 McClatchy athletes that ran on Saturday, 23 ran personal bests! Go Lions!

Great to be back at Woodward Park! Anna McNatt ran another stellar race to finish 5th in the Championship race. Her time of 17:33 is a McClatchy course record and ranks her 7th in California! Louie McNatt led the rest of the Varsity Girls with a 19:25, followed by Olivia Johnson and Olivia Correia, both with PRs of 19:47 and 20:32. The Varsity Boys took 11th place, with Kai Sorensen, 16:45, Jackson Wedel, 16:47 and Alec Redmond, 16:54 all going under 17. Jax Leon and Fletcher Lux also ran PRs and contributed to the team score. The JV Girls team took 15th, with PRs by Colette Combrink, Alena Wong and Brooke Kirchner. JV Boys were 20th with a top 5 of Jackson Evans, Sam Rounds, Alex Li, Max Li and Rowan Kliman all running PRs. Go Lions!

Clean sweep at Metro 1! Lions took first place as a team in all 4 divisions, as well as earning the top individual spot in each division. Alena Wong won her first Metro Meet in the Frosh/Soph girls division. Stella Louney, Colette Combrink, Jillian Palmer and Georgia Starlis were the other top 5. Jax Leon took first for the Frosh/Soph Boys and is now tied with Jackson Wedel for the second fastest time on this course. His supporting cast was Sam Rounds, Max Li, Rowan Kliman and Jaime Garcia. For the Varsity Girls, Anna McNatt won with another course record by almost 2 minutes,! She was followed by Louie McNatt, Olivia Johnson, Olivia Correia and Michelle Wee. In the Varsity Boys race, Kai Sorensen narrowly beat out Laguna Creek’s top runner to take first in a time 15:54! Alec Redmond, Jackson Wedel, Fletcher Lux and Ryan Tang rounded out the top 5.
